Servbase lets you connect any domain you own to a deployed app through a verification and activation flow. The dashboard generates the exact DNS records you need — publish them at your DNS provider and Servbase handles the rest.

Prerequisites

Before you start, make sure you have:
  • A deployed application in your Servbase account
  • Available custom-domain capacity under your current plan or add-ons
  • Access to your DNS provider’s control panel

Set Up Your Custom Domain

1

Add the domain in the dashboard

Open the domain flow for your app and enter the hostname you want to connect — for example:
After you submit, the domain enters an Initializing state while Servbase prepares the resources needed to issue your DNS records.
2

Wait for DNS instructions

Once initialization is complete, the dashboard displays the DNS records you need to publish. These currently include:
  • A CNAME target pointing your subdomain to Servbase’s edge
  • One or more TXT validation records that prove domain ownership
Refresh the dashboard if the records have not appeared yet — initialization may take a moment.
3

Add the records at your DNS provider

Log in to your DNS provider and publish the records exactly as shown in the dashboard. A typical set of records looks like this:
Match the host names, record types, and values precisely. Even a small difference will cause verification to fail.
4

Verify and activate

Return to the Servbase dashboard and trigger verification. Once all DNS checks pass and the domain status changes to Verified, click Activate to route traffic through your custom domain.

Domain Status Reference

After you add a domain, the dashboard shows one of three statuses:

Managing Domains

Once a domain is added you have three actions available in the dashboard:
  • Check now — force an immediate verification pass instead of waiting for the next scheduled check
  • Activate — finalize the connection and start routing traffic to your app
  • Remove — delete the domain mapping from your app
If a domain is currently set as your app’s primary hostname, you cannot remove it until you designate a different domain as primary. Assign another verified domain as primary first, then remove the old one.

Troubleshooting

DNS changes take time to propagate across the internet — sometimes up to 48 hours depending on your provider and the TTL of your records. Wait for propagation to complete, then use Check now to re-run verification. Also double-check that the host names and values in your DNS provider match the dashboard output character-for-character.
The hostname you entered may already be assigned to another app or account within the Servbase platform. If you own the domain and believe this is an error, open a support ticket so the team can investigate and release the existing mapping.
The DNS records can take a short time to generate after initialization completes. If the dashboard does not show your records yet, wait a minute or two and then refresh. Avoid triggering verification until the expected records are visible — running checks before they are ready will produce a failure that does not reflect your actual DNS state.
